“In days to come…”
The prophets Isaiah and Micah use this language when they first begin to speak of salvation. The best stories we tell always carry a sense of anticipation. The people are hoping for a messiah, even in times of silence. Mary and Joseph are headed for Bethlehem, pregnant in ways they cannot fully understand. And you and I are looking for that same Jesus, and the life of the world to come.
There is a rhythm to it all. And the joy of Christmas always begins with a season of preparation.
